The reaction of the story- Theseus

This story is one of the famous myths in Greek mythology. This story was talking about the hero named Theseus, the most bravery, and justice warrior who willing to face challenges. He not only killed the Minotaur, but also the first king who built the first democratic country in this world. This story is easy to understand and also interesting to read. The reason why I think this story is interesting was because the describtion of the hero and the character were vivid and the journey sounded really fun. Also, I enjoy reading mythologies and Aesop Fable. So this story is one of my favorite stories.

The reaction of the story- Lamb to the Slaughter

  I like Ronald Dahl's stories, especially the "Lamb to the Slaughter". This story is a dark comic. It was talking about the wife killed her husband by the leg of lamb. She put the leg of lamb into the oven, then she went to the grocery store to buy some stuffs, and then she came back home  saw his husband died,  she called the police. When polices drove to her house, the police comforted her and began to survey. After a while, she asked polices to eat the leg of lamb (which is the weapon). She began to giggle in the other room while the police were eating the meal. Ronald Dahl had used situational irony and the dramatic irony, and it emphasized the elements of the dark comic. This story is probably the best in “Forth course, Element OF Literature”. To me, this story is not only dark comic, but also the story that contains lots of ironies.

Summary of science fair's project

My hypothesis was that using natural ways to kill pests is faster and more efficient than using pesticides. My step was: First, cut the garlic into pieces. Then mix the chopped garlic with the water. Next, prepare two containers and put 1or 2 roaches into each container. Then, spray the pesticides into one; spray the garlic solution into the other. Observe which roaches die faster. And then do it again, but do the different amount of garlic solution (two times garlic sprays and three times garlic sprays). My result was after the experiment, the roaches in the pesticide groups died faster than the garlic solution groups. I think the reason why the pesticide was more efficient than the natural solution was because pesticides include many chemicals that are toxic to roaches. Also, a swimming pool of garlic solution can only compare to a little amount of pesticides. My hypothesis was incorrect.

reaction of the article- Weird weather in a warm world

 Because of the global warming, the weather in our city had become hot. The weather in the world had increased. Even the weather in Antarctica had become warm, and it caused the ice melt. The creatures in Antarctica could not survive. Because of the green house effect, our country might have serious flood or our country will meet the disater like drought. So the only thing we can do is saving energy. Like go to work or class by Public transportation, turn off the electricity after you leave etc. Although the problem of the global warming is hard to solve, we can think the solution to make it better. Although it is really hard to solve the problem of the global warming, I think at least we can let stop the seriousness of the problem. If everyone can follow the tips that scholars suggested, the global warming will not become serious.

Reaction about movie report - The Mummies

  I was amazed. I didn’t know that mummies could give lots of information (like food they eat, the social level they are, and what caused the death of the mummy) and I don’t know there was a digital mummy, too. Before I thought the mummies were preserved in a complicated way, but actually, it is not that hard and it was interesting. In the video, they made a mummy of an old man; they used the same process as the Egyptians. After 6 years, the mummy had not rotted. So actually the way the Egyptians preserved the mummies were the best. Also, the mummies of Linen in Russia were cool, too. But the rumor was that the body of Linen had become rotten, so probably now the body in Russia was not real. The digital mummy, which I’ve never heard of, amazed me. The NASA just used the digital mummy to test the tools inside the computer, and they did not need to waste too much money just for experiments. That mummy is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen, and now I realized how the mummies are preserved. Also, they could not only tell the story about the ancient culture, but also they could help the technology in the future

The content in the dead man's pocket (reaction)

  This story is really excited but kind of long. Being on the side of the window is really terrifying. The coolist part of this story was that he thought he spent four hours at the side of the building, but actually he had been at the side of the window for short time (8 minutes) I also have that kind of feeling. Sometimes i thought i takes long time to do something that is terrifying or boring, but only short time passed through. When i do my favorite things,  the time is fast. But when i do something that i hate, the time goes slowly. I think the reason why the title called the content in the dead man's pocket was because the main character almost died. Lastly, when the paper flew away, he decided not to get it and watched movie with his wife. I like this story more than the others.

Two kinds

  The main character's mother wanted her to become a prodigy, so her mother tried anything, like acting, playing piano etc. The main character just wanted to be herself, so she decided to disobey her mom and her mom became disappointed. After few years of mom's death, she played piano and realized that the two songs she played before are the two halves of one song. She accepted the piano because the piano has became the memory between the main character and her mom. This story taught us that some of the Chinese mother wanted their childern or child to become a prodigy or prefessional. And sometimes they couldn't accept who childern were. Also I think that this story also taught us that you should be yourself, and do something that you really interested in. Although this story is not as interesting as "The Content in the Dead Man's Pocket", it taught us many things.
